Just now, standing at Tegel Airport in Berlin, I ask myself whether "one" should still post pictures of the airport at all. Probably not.
I do it anyway, because I do fly from time to time. Today I'm flying from Berlin to Luxembourg.
Then I continue to ask myself whether "one" is allowed to write anything at all about an airport in Berlin. Somehow the topic invites a smile. OK, to laugh. Not to take seriously.
And then I have to say something: no matter if and when this miracle project BER / Berlin Airport is finished, this "old" Berlin Tegel Airport is an architectural highlight for me. I really like the fact that you can walk around in circles to the gates, quickly get to the buses and taxis everywhere and then somehow quickly get in and out.
The fact that it is close to the city centre is of course another advantage.
Somehow I like Tegel. And yes, I don't want to fly so much. But one has little to do with the other.
By the way, Tegel Airport was designed by the same architect (Meinhard von Gerkan) as the new BER. Maybe I'd like it too, the airport, if it ever went into operation 🙂 #tegel #ber
