Great Journey 🇳🇴 Day 540
We arrive late in Tromsø. And we have another appointment right away. Every Friday we meet up with friends (so nice when colleagues become friends over the years) in the virtual coffee kitchen for a Friday chat.
Gerd is still shunting our Felix around, I open the laptop and we are already connected to Hamburg, Aachen, Berlin and the world-famous Wermelskirchen. One (that is, exactly one man) laughs at my coffee-making. Immediately I get a link from YouTube University, section "How to make coffee properly" and off I go.
The best thing about our canteen chat, as we affectionately call it, is the connection with "our people".
"How is the ankle?", "Oh, the son is having a birthday party at home? Well, have fun!" and "Finally the conservatory is finished, in keeping with spring". "Where is the next trip going?" And "Oh yes, Sicily, nice!".
We participate in life, almost as if we can chat on the spot. When you are on the road for a long time like we are, it is important to keep in touch. To share joys and sorrows and, more than ever, to be happy about real encounters (soon, yes, soon in Hamburg!).
Oh, Tromsø, yes. One day was enough for us. We quickly photographed the church (is that where Back to the Future was filmed?), refuelled, filled up with gas and fresh water, and uploaded the masses of pictures and cubic projects to the cloud backup at the Hurtigruten terminal (free wifi). A little stroll through town, a few balls of Norwegian wool for the evening activity and we've seen it all. On we go.
Sorry Tromsø, you must be beautiful. Don't take offence, sometimes we just feel like nature, mountains, fjords and northern lights.
