First time: Furka Pass.
An early start, the roads are empty, the view magnificent and the bends narrow. Now and then so narrow that it makes me feel quite queasy. But when I reach the top, with slightly shaky knees, I'm overjoyed.
Honestly? When will you finally get that feeling of being excited about the curves? I'm constantly driving over passes, practising the curves, right turn, left turn. Up and down. I enjoy the view, the mountains, the energy and the fresh, cool air "up there". Actually, I should finally find this cool. But this "Yeah! pass riding feeling" doesn't want to set in.
So again, I like to ride. And I love the mountains. But if I had the choice between riding myself, riding as a pillion or walking up, I would always choose 1. walking up (that's new, by the way, I'm a sport-mouse now) and 2. being a pillion. But, since this is not a "make a wish", I just ride up. Then I just stop in between to let my eyes get enough and my soul fill up with this indescribable mountain energy.
And then, at home, I am happy about the beautiful photos that my husband keeps snapping. So we can reminisce in peace, take a look back at the mountain and just be happy that life has provided this place for us.
PS. In the last picture, the Rhône glacier can still be seen a bit - the Rhône actually rises here!
