Spain - Gratitude for the Now!

Gratitude for the now!

5:30 and I'm sitting in the bar. We slept wonderfully, half past eight we went to bed and slept quite quickly. Now I'm awake and writing the diary for the 2nd time. Because yesterday my entries were deleted. Very strange.

There are still a few people lying here who have not booked a room and are sleeping. On the side, Italian TV with judo is playing at a deafening volume. Next to me lies a man in a bright yellow dress or cape, suddenly Arabic music comes on his mobile phone and he gets up and disappears.

Somehow it's all very romantic. Nevertheless, I am very glad that we decided to take a room. Here we could take a shower and sleep well. And, it's kind of perverse, charge all the mobile phones and the iPad.

Now I wait for the sunrise and keep the camera ready.

Okay, I learn that the sunrise is not already here at half past five, but would be good, because now I am already awake.

But when the sun came, it was wonderful for me. There was an incredibly strong wind on deck, but I was able to hold on, film and photograph well.

It took a while, until half past one to be exact, until we could finally leave the ferry. That was very exciting for me once again. We went down to deck C (or something like that) in stages, quickly packed our things into the suitcases and got on the bike and off we went.

Barcelona, we are here! Whoopee. At first, for lack of any orientation, we did several rounds in the port area. But at some point we made it onto the autostrada heading south. First out of the city.

Here, Spain - hey, we're in Spain! - surprised us with a beautiful coastal road. So winding, so fantastically beautiful, and of course the weather played along. I don't remember for how long, but for sure we drove for an hour through romantic little towns along this winding road. The camera didn't stand still and our eyes overflowed with beautiful impressions.

I sit as a pillion passenger and am allowed to fill myself with beautiful views. Actually, I had downloaded an audio book to listen to something on the side. But I never get around to it. I look and look and have the feeling that I am the richest person in the world. I think about how lucky I am. I get to ride our motorbike through beautiful Spain in the best weather with the greatest man in the world. He drives wonderfully. Very calm and suitable for Heike. Every now and then his left hand strokes my thigh to tell me, nice, you're here. I hold on to his hip, occasionally nibble at his jacket buckles (which always confuses him, I think) and would love to kiss him. But then I can't. He now has a cool motorbike jacket with back armour, so stroking his back is a thing of the past. I don't want to crawl a shell. He's not a turtle.

It's about time we found a campsite. No sooner said than done. Unfortunately, the one we favoured no longer had a pitch. But we were allowed to park our motorbike there for 2 hours, went to the beach, danced in the waves for the first time and then had a shower and a baguette at the campsite. But now on. I really wanted it to be a quiet, great, romantic place. We find it at half past eight. Our tent is now directly above the beach. The view of the waves. The sunset seems to be just for us. The place itself is childless and we enjoy the peace and quiet.

We put up the tent (the newly bought stronger pegs are useless, rocky ground!) and fasten it inside with our motorbike cases. We don't bother with the flysheet today, as we have no idea how to attach it. So we spontaneously decide that it will not rain tonight.

Gerd prepares everything in the tent, I prepare our tomato salad, this time with onions, artichokes and walnuts. Also very, very tasty.

We're sitting on the beach, it's getting dark, we're eating our salad (and Gerd a whole pack of Pringles) and we're just happy. And now, clothes off and stark naked into the waves. It's just unbelievably beautiful. We swim until we can hardly see anything. Then a quick shower, rinse off the salt water and into the tent. (We are still hoping for a dry night).

We don't have to worry about not having a torch with us. The campsite lantern is right next to our tent and shines into our tent. By the way, it's supposed to stay like this for the whole holiday. We don't manage to look at the lanterns even once when we're choosing a pitch.

Now we are lying in our tent, we push the entrance aside and look into a starry night. I explain to Gerd again where the big car is. He does not see it. He doesn't believe me. So he gets out his super stargazer app and looks for the car, which is called Bear here. But either way, the romantic mood is ruined. Anyway, we agree that we both see the moon. And the lantern. Now it's past 10 and we are fast asleep. With the sound of the sea in our ears, we spend another beautiful night. We still have to get used to sleeping on a sleeping mat, but it will be fine.
