Spain - Smiling idleness

Smiling idleness

I wake up at half past six. I'm well rested. I had a strange dream, but I don't remember it. I quickly go to the toilet. That's always the first thing I have to do. I find it very pleasant that the campsite is not so big and the air is already nice and warm. So I can walk around the site in my nightgown.

I think about what I'm going to do. Do I go to the café and write a diary? Or do I just lie down outside the tent with my sleeping mat? Or do I go for a walk on the beach? Everything seems tempting, but I'm even more tempted by the closeness to Gerd. I cuddle up to him in the tent once more and am happy to be so close to him. I just love him like crazy. He slowly wakes up and looks at me. We kiss and I sink deep into his gaze. I feel in seventh heaven. I close the tent entrance once more and am happy to be outdoors with my beloved.

Later, we both get up, do our laundry together and sit comfortably with an espresso in the café. We read, write and look at different routes we could take starting tomorrow. Along the sea? Through the mountains? Either way, it will be beautiful.

After our long breakfast, we go to the beach around 12. Gerd had hung up our laundry beforehand and it is almost dry by now. Since we are not fully equipped like many here, our laundry hangs on lines that are not ours and our jeans dangle crosswise over our Felix. Felix, that's the name of our bike. I love this Felix more every day. I photograph him in cool poses and find him really chic.

So, we go to the beach. Although we don't notice it at the campsite, we are in a hotspot. The beach is packed with people. Everyone comes with umbrellas, deckchairs, all kinds of equipment. We have our two towels and a bottle of water with us. We jump into the water and enjoy the waves, the sun, the weather and ourselves. We laugh at every wave that knocks us over. And if we're not careful, the breakers crash into us and we no longer know what's up and what's down.

Personally, the beach is far too crowded for me. I sit in the sand, play with it and build a blob castle. People are looking. There are hardly any people smiling here. I find that very strange. I miss the smile.

The sun is shining from the sky, it's now around 30 degrees and the water seems cheerful as it washes the waves onto the beach. I go on the offensive. I smile at the people. Over and over again. Here an elderly gentleman, there a lady. But more or less hardly anyone smiles back. That is special. But I keep at it, I want to smile and I want to see the smile in people.

After a while, it drives us back into the shade, Gerd lies down in the tent and I in front of it. So we spend the afternoon doing nothing. Maybe we'll go into town in the evening? We'll see. But maybe not...

We went into town briefly, but only to finally buy a sim card. Then quickly back to the campsite, to continue doing nothing. We are very good at that. We also had fun. In the evening, we went for another swim, which was really nice. The warm water, the waves and just drifting. Afterwards, as always, we are hungry and have to go out for tapas right away...
