Spain - 20 years and cool thanks to motorbike

20 years and cool thanks to motorbike

We sleep late and are nicely rested. Since breakfast is included on the roof terrace, we get up and go upstairs. Upstairs we realise that the hostel breakfasts really don't meet our expectations. Although we have already lowered our expectations, flabby toast and jam packed in aluminium is not our cup of tea. Fruit and the like are completely missing. Fresh juices too. I plan to buy fruit in the supermarket again and eat it. It's usually cheaper, too.

Here in Seville we want to explore the city with a walking tour. As in many other cities we have been to, freetours are offered. These are completely free and are financed by a tip at the end of the tour. We enjoy an almost 2.5 hour tour with a very charming young lady called Lucia. She is beaming with joy and loves Seville, we can tell. She tells us a lot about architecture, history and above all, with a wink, stories about the kings... We don't care if it's all true, it's very entertaining. She does it very well and we get to know Seville and now have a good feeling for the city.

We spend the afternoon at the Royal Palace and its gardens. So beautiful. We are once again very tired of the city and the heat, and actually want to go back to the hostel and take a nap. Just briefly up to the pool on the roof terrace. Just very briefly. But as it always is with plans. Upstairs we meet a Canadian from Montreal, an Australian and a New Zealander and start talking. A few minutes of pool time turn into 2 hours of nice conversations and ice-cold cola and a beer for me. Funny. I've always wanted to be in the sun in the pool sipping a beer. I immediately feel like I'm 20 and incredibly cool. I am, of course.

Whenever we tell people we're on a motorbike, there's an enthusiastic glow followed by a "cool!". So if we're not cool, who is?

In the evening we stroll through the city to the Plaza de España. It is sooo beautiful. We look at the individual regions of Spain and try to see which of the regions we have already travelled through. Unfortunately, we don't know what is really depicted in the pictures. But what is quite clear: we will come here again.

Last but not least, we treat ourselves to a crêpe. I use all my culinary knowledge and order a crêpe with gianduja. They're really good with the nougat here. I don't know if everything is always vegan. But it really gets to me to only look for the vegan versions. It's quite tedious.
