Goat trekking in the Valais. ??️ Renato, a colleague from my IT world, moved to the Valais a year ago. With his goats. He kept raving to me about how beautiful it was here, how great it would be to hike with the goats. And now, after we did the big round yesterday - 18 km, 8 hours, 879 metres of altitude up and down again - I have to say: brilliant! Our daughter described it like this: "Hiking is already great! Even more so in Switzerland! But with Geissen ? hiking ? takes it to the next level." The pace is leisurely (constant breaks to kibble by the side of the path), they slip out now and then (but always come back). Then they always come to the side and demand a petting session. They are sweet, take great care of each other and when children are around, they only move gently and allow everyone to look at them, touch them and get to know them. All along the way, people smiled at us, everyone liked the goats. Somehow they are likeable.
