Great Journey 🏍 Day 303
Holiday from the journey.
To process the experiences on long-term journeys, it is important to take breaks. So they say, the experienced ones. We knew that. But as it is, you can only believe it when you are there yourself.

So a holiday is on the cards: We choose a magical place, one without hotel castles and mass tourism. An eco-village with small bungalow guesthouses. With a turtle beach watch and these cute bamboo sunshades on the beach. Gerd, as always, finds a little paradise for us and we are holiday-ready.

What we do?
We clean out Malou's suitcase (somehow everything smells of mint, something seems to have leaked). And we swim in the sea. Sink into the hammock or relax on the bungalow terrace. What everyone else would do on their beach holidays.

And the best part: our friend Regula comes to visit us (for the second time on our trip) and we enjoy this quiet time together. She surprises herself with new insights. "Bathing in the sea is really fun!" and is surprised by us "You can really goof off!

Many travellers report being on holiday from their trip at regular intervals. That varies, of course, but after 6 and 12 weeks of being on the road, it's actually everyone's turn. We understand that very well, our heads are full, there is only a limited routine when travelling, emotionally we get involved in something new every day. And because we still want to find the twentieth waterfall thrilling, the tenth excavation site interesting and the 303rd sunset enchanting, we have to take breaks. Let everything sink in. Allow body and mind to rest.
