Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 568/2
We stroll through Gothenburg. We want to run a few errands and are hungry.

In Gothenburg we smell summer. The smell of fruit, oranges and lemons is everywhere. The crocuses are sprouting. The sun is smiling.

In the old market hall, which has been converted into a gourmet temple, we fill our bellies and are amazed at how many Michelin-starred restaurants Gothenburg has to offer.

We let ourselves drift and find ourselves at the cathedral. A little later - without successfully passing the small cafés - we are at the harbour and see if the opera has something for us today. Unfortunately (Heike), thank God (Gerd), there is no performance today. OK, let's stroll on. And again it smells of summer, even in the harbour!

We don't buy anything at Karamell-Butik (and we'll be angry about it in the evening!) and at the soap factory I can talk shop with the owner for a while. I immediately think about how I can turn Felix into a rolling soap workshop (all my soap equipment is in Bern) and Gerd thinks of his own. Here, too, in the candy shop and the soap shop, spring smells fruity.

When we visit the Gothenburg City Museum, it is almost unbearable: this fruit-summer scent. How do they manage to make a whole city smell so good?

Back in Felix (who of course now also smells of Gothenburg) we both start laughing: I unpack our meagre purchases and on top, right in my handbag, is the summer-scented fruit tea. Which we now call Gothenburg tea. Because every single time I took it out of my bag, it gave off this scent. This unmistakable Gothenburg scent!
