Great Journey 🇮🇪 Day 699
What do we know about Ireland? Not much, actually.

During the 7-hour crossing from Liverpool to Dublin we try to read in.

We read that Ireland is a country of emigrants. That it is called the "green island". That it is quiet and deserted and at the same time lively in Dublin's streets. Ireland is said to be the land of pubs and Guinness. Whiskey is spelled with an ey here, but we are not interested in that or in whiskey itself.

Kerry Gold butter comes to mind, green meadows, lots of sheep, wild cliffs on the Atlantic. The Aran jumper and, of course, Irish music. U2, Irish folk and Enya. We also learn that Ireland has won the Eurovision Song Contest 7 times. Oh yes, how interesting.

But we also read about Irish mythology, about lovely people and about rainy weather. Well, we have it with good weather! They play a team sport here called hurling and then there's rugby.

Then we learn about global corporations that have their headquarters here and about the rising cost of living. But also about quality of life, tranquillity in the countryside and again and again we read about beautiful landscapes.

And what's new: we hardly have any needles in our wish list. In fact, we don't have a plan for where we will go on the island.

The only thing that is certain is that we are looking forward to it!

Merci for "travelling with us

We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.

Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.

In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
