Great Journey 🏍 Day 65

The first day in Greece is a tough one. We arrive in Patras quite overtired (sleep didn't come easily on the eternally buzzing ferry) and after a Corona test right at disembarkation (we are still waiting for the result) we arrive at our booked hotel. Here, the press conference is playing loudly on the TV and, to the absolute surprise of the Greeks, the total lockdown for the whole country is announced as of the day after tomorrow.

Great start, isn't it?
Greece, you can do better than that! Show us what makes you special. Show us your beauty, your wonderful people and your sun!

After a midday nap, our system starts rattling. The first messages reach us. Help comes from all sides. We do what we do best: talk to each other, check all the options. Back to Italy? Up to Bulgaria by land? Rent a house in Greece for a long time? A return flight to Switzerland?

We opt for Greece. The numbers are low, the lockdown will come everywhere. Gerd finds a magical flat with sea view for the next few weeks and we know once again: no matter where we are, together we rock it (do they still say that or is that uncool and outes us as 29+?).
