Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 569
After Gothenburg we are exhausted. We really want to visit Tjolöholm Castle. We arrive and realise once again that Sweden does not open the doors to many sights until April or May.

We read that Tjolöholm Castle is the most distinguished Arts and Crafts facility in Sweden. It is an exciting mixture of 16th century English, Art Nouveau and the most modern innovations of the time. The castle's lavish furnishings offer British "comfort" and, at the time, ultra-modern conveniences such as circular showers and a hoover that weighs a ton. Surrounding the castle is the strictly trimmed garden, which gradually transitions into a free-form English park. The property sits on its own peninsula with footpaths through oak woods and beach meadows.

It's all very nice, only we can't get in. So what do we do? We let them look at it. Our Dröhneli flies over the castle and garden, takes a few nice pictures (therefore no real ones in the blog) and we? We eat a few Norwegian Kvikk Lunsj and drive on.

That's how modern sightseeing works. Or not. We just don't care, we want to go on and realise once again that we can't see everything on our trip. The castle here was probably not meant to be. Some other time, perhaps. Or never. Also good.

Do we hear the call of home growing louder and louder within us? It could be. And a certain receptivity fatigue? Yes, that too is quite possible.

So, we'll just drive on, it's a good time for us.
