Sweden - Hiking on the lake

Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 521
Instead of cutting beautiful cross-country trails along lovely forest paths, the Swedes simply cut their sledding grooves on frozen lakes.

However, we go for a hike through the snow-covered forest. Always with a view of the lake. Then we realise that even a tiny bit of sunshine is warming!

At some point we notice that there are hikers and skiers on the lake. For us, that can only mean: we want to go too! We look for a suitable spot to put the water in (how do you say that when the lake is frozen over? An iron?) and hike in the beautiful, sloping sun on a completely flat lake. Every now and then we jump to the side, because we know the characteristics of the nimble cross-country skiers.

It is very impressive to experience winter in this form. The light, the icy cold, frozen lakes and snow that just stays put. Roads that are no longer gritted and de-iced but simply flattened and flattened.

We are filled with deep gratitude for this experience. But gratitude also spreads when we turn the heating up a few degrees in Felix's room, put on some tea water and play SkipBo by candlelight (okay, that's where my gratitude abruptly stops, I'm not ready to begrudge him every victory yet).
