Great Journey 🏍 Day 246
The pyramids of Stob.
We could report that they are fantastic. We could write that we walked the one-hour hike (one-way) along breathtaking nature on a sunny day. And at the end of the trail, look at the weathered sandstone pyramids and once again marvelled at the wonder of this earth.

But it wasn't like that. After the visit to the Rila Monastery we were full. We wanted to, but couldn't. Gerd would have loved to just drive through the enchanting landscape with me in the back. Each in his own thoughts, an audio book on his ears. Letting our gaze wander and enjoying it with our eyes.

So we did the shoo-shoo tourist version. We were a little embarrassed even in front of ourselves. Instead of the hike described above, we made it to the end of town, ordered a Coke and a instant coffee at the only café with car park charm and sent the drone on a reconnaissance flight. When the pictures were taken, the Coke drunk and the coffee tipped into the lawn, we simply sat down on our Malou and drove on. Like Luky Luke, into the sunset. Somehow it just fitted.
