Great Journey 🏍 Day 337
Be careful what you wish for! It could come true.
During the last, rather long and fantastically beautiful stage through the mountains, I wish very hard for a cosy bed, a room with a view in the mountains and a small fridge. Then I buy a watermelon, cool it down and we eat it with big spoons in bed.
"Do you have a room for us?"
"No, I'm afraid we're fully booked!"
"Oh no..."
"We would only have the presidential suite left."
I look at Gerd batting my eyes like a first lady, he smiles back like a president.
"Okay, one night!" and we move in.
When we see the shell-soft white bathrobes here, we whoop with joy. In the bathroom I discover a whirlpool - admittedly for small people with legs half as long as mine - but still: a whirlpool! We decide not to leave this room until noon tomorrow. And we go through with it.

It's that time again: we need a little rest.
A little less "Hello, where do you come from?" and a little more "roll over again and snooze". A little less map reading #googlemaps and a little more map playing #SkipBo. A bit of strolling into the day, checking the internet, letting the impressions of the last weeks sink in and the best: instant coffee en masse. Yes, I know, everyone has a quirk. I don't like them either, but what can I do?
We extend our stay here for a few more days, move into a normal room with an equally comfortable bed at 12 o'clock the next day, enjoy the view, work a little. But for the most part, we are creating mini-vacations for ourselves. That feels so good. And the best thing: this is exactly how I wanted it to be when we drove through the mountains. Exactly like this!
