Norway Tour ?? Day 9
We arrive at Lysebotn and realise (travelling without a plan) that there is no way out except the same way back. But a few times a day there is a ferry back to Stavanger. Unfortunately, they are all booked up. And it is Sunday. So it's weekend excursion day. We decide to take a break, get out our coffee maker and position ourselves at the best end of the fjord in beautiful sunshine. Quickly other motorcyclists join us, we start talking, exchange routes and ideas (actually we just listen, because most of them have already ridden the area several times and have great tips for us). In the country shop (a small souvenir shop) we find out that there is a fast ferry for 6 pm. We book online and just have to wait another 4 hours.
There are worse places to wait. The motorcyclists come and go, we collect tips and are asked again and again where from, where to. Only: we don't know where to ourselves. Shaking our heads. None of the travellers can understand how one can be so haphazard on the road. Nevertheless, most of them would like to be.
The ferry itself has a little challenge for me: a huge hump that I have to drive over to get on. Finally, I close my eyes and drive across at full throttle. Gerd rolls his eyes and is stunned. But: Malou and I are on it! The motorbikes are strapped down and off we go, towards the sunset. Like Lucky Luke!
