Great Journey 🏍 Day 248
Hiking on behalf of marital bliss.
Today is another hiking day of a special kind. My plans are so wrongly calculated, the altitude information in my hiking app is more motivating than realistic and the way back is only possible by taxi because of the fatigue of the hiking bodies.
But one thing at a time:
Instead of driving to the next valley, we decide (er, I decide for us) for a nice hike over the mountains. Once there, we are actually already sufficiently gifted with a beautiful view.
We are 5 minutes late for the hourly guided tour of the Cave of Love, or rather Yagodinska Cave. So we are approached by resourceful 4×4 jeep drivers and told that we could use the time to drive up to the Eagle Eye. We would be back for the next cave tour an hour later! "I promise!"
So, we get into the tourist fun, up onto the jeep loading area, up into the mountains. 20 minutes later we are standing at the top of the mountains to enjoy the view that we had two hours earlier, after all, we hiked over the mountain! So we really are heroes.
Now another 20 minutes of shaking and we're standing in front of the cave. But now: pure love!
With about 50 other people, we wait in front of the entrance, listening to the story of the cave for 15 minutes without interruption. Or anything else. Since only Bulgarian was on offer, we only listen to the sound. But now it starts, like a very large family of geese we waddle into the cave. Stopping here and there, we hear Bulgarian explanations again. Everyone laughs, we just look stupid. And now we decide on our own to surrender to the beauty of the cave and above all to the energy of love.
The cave is beautiful, very beautiful even. And also very cold (nothing with love energy right now). 6° Celsius and an hour later we come out frozen through, warm up in the sun and are happy about our own great idea of now being taken by car to the "home" valley.
We gave everything to make up for yesterday's negligent devil's cave mistake 🥰
