For 46 years I found it really stupid to have a birthday in winter (Mum, you really could have planned better!). No pool parties in the garden, no barbecues on the beach and during my school years I always had my birthday during the winter holidays.
That has now come to an end!
I actually celebrated my 47th birthday in the sun, in the morning on the balcony. The only thing I didn't think about was the chocolate cake, which doesn't melt immediately. But there's a solution for that too: eat it up quickly.
And no, Gerd didn't bake, but he did track down the world's most delicious chocolate brownie cake in Koroni. (It won't be the last one we eat here...).
