Great Journey 🏍 Day 190
The rules are changing only slowly, a lot of riding around is still not allowed. But at least it's OK to do something for your physical health on foot.

So off we hike. From the sea directly into the mountains. Between olive groves, past old churches. The paths become narrower and narrower, the road surface has changed to a grassy stone path after only 5 minutes. My gaze wanders into the distance to the sea. Gerd's gaze, as I only realise in the evening when sorting the pictures, scans the roadside to photograph all the little flowers up close.

As we walk through almost deserted Greek mountain villages, the inhabitants, mostly elderly people, wave to us in a friendly manner. We take a picnic break at the spring of a beautiful church and fill up our only water bottle.

In the evening, with beautiful weather and wonderful conversations, we feel happy, satisfied and yes, also completely full. And we realise that we haven't hiked 700 metres in altitude and around 20 kilometres in a long time. That has to change, we have to move outside more. Our almost daily "on-the-balcony workouts" don't have the same happy effect.

And as long as the spring here presents us with such an enchanting world of blossoms and the heat is not yet so strong, we want to go hiking regularly again. Because by hiking - unlike with the motorbike - we are once again much closer to nature. Feels very good to us right now.

It was nice to hike with you. We must repeat this - we know many paths.
