Great Journey 🏍 Day 368
That, too, is part of our journey: letting ourselves drift. Getting lost in cities. Wandering through the small, perhaps somewhat dark alleys.
We look at building constructions through our acquired Central European clean-man-and-TÜV-safety-glasses and notice that things can be done differently. Do we find it beautiful? It doesn't really matter, because we don't have to like it. We try to remain neutral. (Which, of course, we don't succeed at.)
And yet we admire the ironwork on every corner, the - let's say - interesting building site protections and balconies and windows where it would be difficult for me as a dressmaker to take the right fabric measurement because probably no curtain rod would hold everything nicely in place due to the sloping position that has come into use over the years.
It is quite challenging within us to think of the people who live here. Probably have to live for lack of an alternative.
That's the way it is with travelling: We perceive, classify in our inner - mind you: learned! - system and fail miserably in not wanting to evaluate. But we keep at it, practising this.
And that is exactly what makes us travel: the many facets of the world, the colourful diversity and the incredible contrasts.
