You have enchanted us, made us crazy, confused us, warmed us up. You pampered us and gave us a little bit of hip gold on the side and unnoticed.
Thank you, you wonderful Turkey with your many Üs and Ös. With your ticks above and below the letters, with the i with and without a dot. With your language, which remained a mystery to us until the end, but which is Müzik to our ears.
Teşekkürler you huge, beautiful, rough, green, rocky, rugged, dry and then at the end even primeval forest land.
Merci, you land of enigmas, of unanswered questions, of mysterious traditions, of strange dress codes, of gender segregation unknown to us and of oriental sounds.
Merci tuusig for the Çay, but also for the discoloured teeth, for the new sharp polishing toothpaste and the hope that we will get through the tea deprivation in the next country just fine.
Thank you for surprising us and giving us such a gift. And thank you that we were able to turn all the prejudices we brought with us inside out and look at them closely.
