Sweden - Arrived at the Arctic Circle

great voyage 🇸🇪 day 5252 and suddenly we cross the arctic circle or as i still called it

Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 525/2
And suddenly we are crossing the Arctic Circle, or as I have learned: the Arctic Circle.

We are standing here and suddenly it throbs in our hearts: we are really here, aren't we? We never had that on our radar.

The Arctic Circle was somehow a magical border for us. We never really knew why. But when we suddenly realise that we are here, a great calm and also a kind of satisfaction spreads.

The Arctic Circle is a moving line, the southernmost latitude, so to speak, where the midnight sun is visible at the summer solstice. Okay, there's nothing going on with the summer solstice right now, so it's less important for us. But it is clear that the polar circle moves through the egg shape of our beautiful earth. During 40,000 years it moves northwards and then also southwards within 180 kilometres. At the moment it is crawling northwards, with a little patience it will be at the top in the north in the year 12,000, then it will come back and so on.

It's all quite exciting, but we also don't care a bit. We are up here now, further north than we ever dreamed of being, and think about all the things that can be achieved in life without goals.

But we have one goal now (and we've had it for a while): a hot chocolate at the Arctic Circle. Since there's nothing like that to buy here either, I let my cooking skills run free and mix us something delicious: lots of almond paste, hot water, 95 chocolate, a little vanilla and coconut blossom sugar from Camiguin Island (thanks, Axel!).
