Great Journey 🇳🇴 Day 549
In the past - those with life experience will remember - there was the household day. If you live in a van like we do, you only need the household hour.
🧽 Washing up is done quickly due to lack of dishes. approx. 5 minutes, 2 x daily
🚰 Fill up with water: 3-10 minutes
Empty water: 3 minutes
Emptying the WC: 5 minutes, 2 minutes on top for an extra flush round
🧹 Vacuum cleaning: 1.5 minutes
🛌 Making beds: 2 minutes, exact making beds: 5 minutes
🧼 Sweep around the house once: 4 minutes
Tidying up is completely unnecessary because we have actually become tidy. (Mamas, it actually happened!) It is not possible at all to leave everything lying around. You'd have to step over everything immediately and you'd be looking for it all the time. When we set off, everything would fly back and forth. So we realised already on day 2: everything has its place and is put straight back there. Small exceptions are reading glasses, slippers, biscuit wrappers and knitwear.
Extra every two or three weeks: 🧺 Washing laundry depending on the machine: 20 min. - 3.5 hours (who seriously believes that 3.5 h is really eco, even though the programme is called eco?)
Dryer for jeans and bed linen, necessary in winter: 20-60 minutes
And if you're wondering about Felix's exterior maintenance, no, we haven't washed it yet, we haven't taken it through the car wash and we don't give our expedition vehicle any beauty treatments at all. Because: we love our home because of its inner values. We have never been car or motorbike cleaners. We have never enjoyed "nice" tyres or shiny car bling-bling.
But as soon as we're out of the snow, we'll have a little wash. I promise, you faithful little house 🚐.
