Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 10

"Bernd lives nearby," I think. One phone call later we are sitting at his kitchen table. And are served the typical Spreewald dish. Jacket potatoes, curd cheese, linseed oil, gherkins (and for Gerd marinated herring in sour cream).

Later, over an excellent espresso, we chat about old times. How we met (back then, in the examination board for media designers in Frankfurt/Oder) and much more about painting. Bernd gives us a tour of his studio, we marvel at his paintings, he tells us about the places where they were created and a bit about over-painting techniques.

While we chat like this, one thing leads to another. And we realise once again that the world is a village after all: Bernd and his wife actually live in the parents' house of my mum's partner. We can't stop laughing.

The garden enchants us, we are shown the oven and - how could it be otherwise - we get a homemade sourdough bread in our luggage. Thank you both for your spontaneity and hospitality.
