Great Journey 🇩🇰 Day 575/576
We leave Copenhagen, roll through the countryside, look at churches and museums. We go for a hyggelig käffelen and end up on the Baltic Sea island of Møn. We want to stay here for a few days. Our working week gives us structure, breaks and time to process the impressions.
We find a place at the end of the island, on the tip of the island to be precise, and at the same time a nature reserve: Nyord. We stand alone, in the evening mini deer and giant rabbits join us and during the day we shift our office to the inviting sunlit picnic benches.
We doze off, have a hearty breakfast, work diligently, cook something nice in the evening and repeat it the next day. When our eyes look up from the laptop, they seek relaxation in nature and the fast hopping yet fat hares (are there really such huge hares?) make our hearts leap higher.
After dinner we take a walk through the village. 35 inhabitants are said to live there, we see 3. We find a small street and even a harbour. The village youth: 2 youngsters with music from their smartphones and over-knee-high rubber boots on their feet. The fishing rods are leaning against the shed wall, they smile at us and greet us friendly. We end our tour of the village after 15 minutes and crawl into our Felix, which - we notice more and more - has become so much our home that we can't imagine ever moving out again.
But like everything else in life, that part of our lives will probably be subject to constant change. And if there's one thing we've learned in our lives, it's flexibility and our "I have no idea, but I'm going to do it" mentality! So let's stay curious.
At the end of the day, the sun hides nicely behind the only row of trees on the island, we nod a quick goodnight to the deer and day 575 and 576 of our trip are already over. Tiptop, we think.
