Great Journey 🏍 Day 312
Real and false adventurers
Barbara from @ride2seetheworld is the perfect keyword giver and question poser.

Briefly to the beginning: If you follow the travellers like this, you see muddy motorbikes standing deep in water, tyre changes on the dusty roadside, dirty-happy faces after sand/mud/off-road tours.

And then there it is: this always completely superfluous comparison. That's the only way real adventure works.

What nonsense! Barbara gets me out of my own thought trap: "In my eyes, everyone is an adventurer who leaves their "sofa" and steps out of their comfort zone," she writes to me. And she is right. Thank you once again!

Yes, we gave up the comfortable sofa in the great flat to study the map on plastic chairs by the roadside, to discover the world together on a motorbike saddle, to eat only vegetarian gözleme for weeks and: it doesn't feel like an adventure at all and yet it probably is. It is our life now.

What is adventure for you? Is it simply what you don't have at the moment? Does it always have to tingle at the idea? Or is it simply, as Barbara says, something that takes place outside the comfort zone, the known?

About the photo: For us, it was actually the first time we slept outside, without a tent and all. Just on a mat on this strange pavilion frame. And no, neither bad guys nor dangerous bears came. Even mosquitoes left us alone. We would never have guessed that the adventure actually consisted of ignoring the nocturnal and permanently croaking frog next to us.

By the way, Köprülü Kanyon National Park is a wonderful place for an overnight stop. Cool water, super nature, winding roads and a unique landscape.
