Continued: --- Day 4: Monday. Gerd goes to buy proper tools. (We should have done it right away!) In the evening we continue. We unscrew the old racks, put on the new ones, are happy for a short moment, I already want to put on the cases and then realise that the exhaust is lying next to the bike. It hardly belongs there. So I dismantle the frame, put the exhaust back on, put the frame back on and finally, finally put the cases on. I realise that they are huge! I am now as wide as a Trabbi and probably won't get through the emergency lane on the motorway. (Oops, did I really think that?) But: I am happy! In the last sunshine, we quickly take a happy-me photo and then we both realise how cool we think we are:
Conclusion: Malou is now ready to travel, it wasn't that difficult. But instructive. Learnings: Good tools. Never build over a gully (it's greedy for screws) and put the screws down so that you know where what belongs afterwards. It's good that we have two motorbikes, we could always see how it should look originally.
