Great Journey 🏍 Day 313
We stop in a small community. We look for a shady spot next to a village shop, a kind of "here's-everything-you-need shop" in kiosk size.

The shady spot turns out to be a meeting place for the men of the village, right next to a mosque and a well. Hesitantly I join them, sending Gerd ahead. We are allowed to sit down and are immediately asked if we want tea. Of course, and whether we want it. One of the gentlemen speaks a little German. He was in Düsseldorf for a few years. He translates for everyone, tells them about our route. The younger ones are amazed by Malou. Whether they admire the motorbike or laugh at our fully equipped protective clothing, which is rather unusual here, we will never know.

But the smile connects. We are no longer surprised that we are not allowed to pay for the tea. Instead, we absolutely have to go and see the stork forest. Two boys, barely old enough to ride their motorbike, are sent ahead of us to show us the way. Once again, we are thrilled by the hospitality here.

We didn't really understand about the storks. We learn that they are "actually" only passing through here. We don't find out why they nest here and have children. We assume in our own biology fantasy that it must be because of the hospitality here. Why not stay where you feel welcome?
