Podcast No. 155 - A few more castles and finally the Highland Games - Scotland - Great Journey

24 july 2022 2

We continue across the British Isles to see some real Scottish sights. And then the Highland Games! Finally, the time and place fit to shine with our presence. We were very excited.

Our visited places:

  • Dunvegan Castle
  • End Isle of Skye, Hebrides
  • Harry Potter Train in the Rain
  • Ben Nevis, THE Scottish mountain, in the rain mist
  • Glennfinnan in the rain
  • Glencoe, this beautiful, probably the most beautiful Scottish valley in storm and rain
  • Doune Castle with (or rather without) Outlander
  • Stirling with hula hoops, mountain climbed
  • The Kelpies and a great ship lift
  • Alva Games
  • Edinburgh: Writers Museum, meeting with friends, about 20'000 steps and at the end of the day we play Settlers of Catan.
  • Royal Botanic Garden and once again we meet great people

Road trip realities

How we manage to live in the van

Leben pur! Unterwegs. Whether at icy -30 °C in the Lapland winter or in the sand of the Tunisian desert, whether in the left-hand traffic of England or along picturesque dream coasts of Europe. Whether in the hot summer of Turkey or in the "interesting" traffic of Georgia.

We report on frozen sliding doors, living together on 9.5 square metres, the inevitable sand in the desert and unforgettable ferry trips. We look at how we make do with little and still have way too much.
