Great Journey Day 707
Can someone pinch us? How beautiful can a country be? How friendly the people and how clean the area?
A new postcard subject around every bend. The sun is kind to us, the clouds draw pretty shapes on the bright blue sky. The roads are narrow here, but we take it easy. When we meet oncoming traffic, which is rare, we slow down briefly, greet each other and carefully manoeuvre past each other.
The paths are in good condition, the stone walls along the way are covered with countless flowers. At times we feel as if we are driving through flowerbeds.
We set up on the beach in Tragumna. Best summer weather, a pitch right on the quay and finally a chance to jump into the Atlantic and paddle around the little islands. Now that would be something! And yes, that's what we'll do! Right now.
Later, we pull out our chairs, meet other long-term travellers and exchange ideas. Of course, it doesn't take long before we come to the subject of toilets (a constant topic of conversation with other Vanlifers). When the topic is over and normal travel topics dominate the conversation again, we agree pretty quickly that Ireland really is a dream island. And we haven't even got that far yet...
