Great Journey 🏍 Day 255
That's Bulgaria, too: lots of street dogs (I wonder who they belong to?), rubbish along the road every now and then (but definitely not as much as in Greece) and potholes that are quite something to see.

🐕 If it were up to my beloved, we would already be a travelling zoo: a few puppies here, a few mini-cats there. He would even take little lizards or clucking chickens with him. If this trip produces one thing: he will open an animal rescue house afterwards with a feel-good cuddle corner for humans and animals. I'm almost certain of that.

🚯 We just don't understand the rubbish thing. Okay, we grew up with waste separation and the green dot for the yellow bin (?!?). We even put the chewing gum paper back in our pockets, forgot it at home and then washed it too. We suspect that it will take another generation or two before everyone realises that they are not polluting just any area, but their own. We always take our rubbish, if we have any, with us. But it's not easy to leave the place cleaner than we found it, there's a lot of rubbish lying around. Unfortunately.

🛣️ The roads in Bulgaria are good to very good, we can't complain about that. There are a few holes that are filled with water on hot days and could serve as paddling pools for children. At every village entrance there are bumps that make me jump up on the back of the bike. Most of these are indicated beforehand, Gerd can (and should!) brake. And he does (most of the time). And when he doesn't, I take off and for a short moment have a magical view of the vastness above his helmet. That's something too. The short crack in the back, well, that's what the pillion heroine has to put up with when she doesn't want to ride herself.

So, you can see: Bulgaria is beautiful, but like everything, this country has two sides. In any case, we try to pay more attention to the beautiful sides.
