The Aare Gorge. Truly a place of power. Between Innertkirchen and Meiringen, the Aare has eroded a course through the limestone rocks of the "Kirchet", creating a 1.4 km long, up to 200 m deep gorge that is only 1 - 2 metres wide in places. That didn't happen in a flash, but over tens of thousands of years. I'll have to ask grandma if she still remembers 🙂 I've been here several times now and every single time I find it fascinating and beautiful at the same time what power water can have. And what magical shapes nature can create.
