Great Journey Day 708 ff.
Until now, we thought the streets were narrow here. Until we miss the turn and end up in a really narrow alley. Our paper map doesn't know that, of course, so we continue for now. Turning around is not an option here anyway.
At a particularly exposed spot, we find a small Felix-long spot on the side of the road and think on. The view is magnificent. We haven't had any oncoming traffic for the last hour. Even when we stand around here for another hour (nap!), we don't see any cars.
Our daughter laughs at us when she wakes us up in the middle of the day: "Retired parents with day off!" We lie sheltered in Felix and let the sun shine in our faces through the skylight. And still no one around.
So we decide to stay right here. The internet reception is great (like everywhere else in Ireland!) and tomorrow is work day.
In the evening it happens: a car comes and promptly stops. In the middle of the road. Which doesn't really matter, no one will come anyway. The older man gets out, wishes us a nice day, asks if we are staying the night and says that this is a very nice place. "Good choice!
Just before he turns around, he shouts into the window if we want eggs. He had fresh ones and we could have some. "Half a dozen, yes?" Okay, we'll take them. And he's already whizzing along in his rattletrap. He won't be doing much street selling here, but let's keep our fingers crossed.

Merci for "travelling with us
We are thinking about taking another break from travelling in the summer and visiting our families in Germany and Switzerland. One of the ideas is to organise a Lecture about our long journey to the Persian Gulf to prepare. If you would like to, what would interest you the most? We will also tell stories here that don't find a place here on the blog. We're thinking of the Bern and Berlin area - simply because we have family there. But other places are also conceivable. Feel free to write to us.
Do you think our travel experiences might be of interest to others? Then you can share the Share post quietly. By e-mail or however you want to do it.
In addition, if you haven't already done so, you can use our Newsletter subscribe. Here you will receive all our experiences in your mailbox whenever we publish something new or once a week on Fridays: live-pur.ch/newsletter
We are also very happy to hear your views, your tips or your questions. Just comment on the post!
Beautiful pictures, as always.
I hope the eggs were delicious! 👍😋
Dear Rachel, ohhh yes! Even if they were "only" eggs, but with this story they made very special pancakes (pancakes? Crepes?) <3
Kind regards - Heike
