Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 41
We leave Venice and take a leisurely drive into the mountains. There is this small national park, Foreste Casentinesi, with lots of bends, a lot of gravel roads (I'm quite good at this now) and small agriturismo hostels. Autumn seems to have arrived here too, the leaves are changing colour and we are almost alone. Shortly before dark, we find accommodation, book it and then wander for almost an hour in the dark along gravel paths through the countryside. It is not until the next morning that we discover the beauty.
Actually, this park is also the mountain ridge between the east and west coasts. We crossed the Apennines (not for the first time and definitely not for the last) and I have to say: mega beautiful. Even though I love the sea, mountains are also really great!
We are pampered at the Agriturismo L'Antico Frutto. The breakfast would last for several days, the peace and quiet up here is simply wonderful. Especially after the moving days in Venice. We consider staying here for a few days. A glance at the weather app and the sunny days in Chianti and on the Mediterranean coast around Grosseto let us continue our journey.
Once again we are grateful for the opportunity to decide absolutely spontaneously.
