Our great journey. Our great adventure.
In 2015 it was still: "We could go on a longer trip!" Then in 2016: "Okay, let's do it!" And we started planning, saving, dreaming.
In 2017 it was clear we would buy a van and do the trip in great vanlife style.
In 2018, we rented 2 motorbikes (or something like that) in Laos and rode around the country. After that, I passed the motorbike driving test. (Yes, after that. Don't judge me).
In 2019, we overturned all van plans and bought 2 motorbikes from the money we had saved. And continued planning. Cleared out the flat, tested the equipment and ourselves for 3 weeks in autumn in wind and rain in Norway.
In 2020, we went into the home stretch. The flat has been terminated for the summer, all clients know about it and are going on a remote test drive with us. We sell furniture, re-register, apply for the first visas and are full of anticipation. In August 2020, we're off!
March 2020: The journey is the least important thing right now. In times like these, individualism has to give way to the idea of community. We've spent 5 years planning, saving, dreaming... And now, whether it starts in 6 or 12 months is completely irrelevant.
I can't say how I feel. But I know one thing for sure: the last five years have been wonderful. Full of palpitations, full of anticipation.
And now, instead of travelling, we are already learning flexibility par excellence. Plans? No more. Faith? Always. We believe in our journey, we believe in ourselves as a team and we believe that everything has a purpose. Someday we will understand that too. But sad, no, we are not sad. We are healthy. We live in a beautiful country. We are doing well.
No matter what comes, we believe it can be done. And if it ends up being a journey: all the better!
Stay connected in the heart!
