Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 504
Such an island needs lighthouses.
In the north the "Lange Erik", in the south the "Lange Jan"! Both currently closed to visitors, winter season, we now again.
On Saturday morning, while we were video-calling with our girlfriend (we in Felix with a view of Langer Jan, she at home in Bern), she asked us what we felt when we saw the lighthouses. And we notice that - contrary to many people who feel something like longing when they see lighthouses - we have more of a "yes, quite nice" mood.
It's a bit like: It shows us the way, but you don't make a beeline for it. So we look at the pretty towers, are happy about the bright blue sky in the background and take a few pictures.
How's that for longing?
Is longing even a driver? Or one of those "put it on the back burner" pushers? Is life boring when you no longer have longing? Why do we attach longing to things or places? And above all: who says that longing is a good thing?
Thoughts about thoughts. While we enjoy one of the countless beautiful sunsets Sweden has to offer in the evening (around 4 o'clock...) we puzzle over the questions. And once again we don't know what to do. But the good thing is: it doesn't matter, does it?
What do you think about longing? Or more simply: with the lighthouses?
