Norway Tour ?? Day 21
The day passes somehow. My holiday mood is missing. We drive to Oslo, today actually also on the motorway. We don't have far to go. We have to be at the ferry at 12, we are there shortly before 11. The beauty of the nature does not reveal itself to me today - I really want to stay here. And somehow the anticipation of home and actually also of work spreads through me.
In the queue we get in line behind two Vespas, packed with cool (and also very crazy) guys. They report that in 2 weeks they have done around 7000 kilometres from Austria via Sweden, Denmark, Finland, North Cape (of course!) and Norway. Without a big plan, a lot of distance, but also visited the most important spots. I was fascinated by the luggage solutions (one Vespa was on the road with a Spanish mailbox). The stories are hilarious. One Vespa unfortunately died somewhere in the north of Norway, the ADAC brings it home. The guys have several of those little spare tyres with them, even winter tyres. They report that they get about 100 km on one tank of fuel and have to constantly refuel (and eat the associated hot dogs in all variations at petrol stations). I think they are real heroes! ??? We furtively look at our odometer: 3 weeks, 3000 km. And remember that if our fuel gauge shows "only" 100 km left, we'd have to visit a petrol station. As different as people are, so is travelling. In any case, we had great fun spending the almost 2 hours waiting time with them and listening to their stories.
One of the nice things about travelling is meeting the crazy people of the world. I love that!
