Great Journey 🇸🇪 Day 505
Today we go into the world of mythical creatures. We visit the enchanted forest in the north of Öland, the so-called Trollskogen.
We hear birds chirping and our eyes search the undergrowth for trolls and other magical creatures. Behind gnarled tree roots and under thick stones, we discover the miraculous creatures.
Of course, we saw and photographed a lot. But since they have magical powers, they are able to conjure their way out of all the pictures. Later, looking through our pictures, we don't find a single troll, not even the little fairy who told us so much about the forest and the island.
But that doesn't matter at all, we told her that it suits us. We carry the magic stories in our hearts and the fairy dust in our hair (depending on the length of the hair, one more, the other less...).
If you hike through Trollskogen, you will find a 5-kilometre-long hiking trail in beautiful forest, always just a stone's throw away from the rugged Baltic Sea coast. The trail starts and ends at an information centre, which is really well designed and must be a hit with families!
Enchanted, we get into our food-on-wheels-breakfast-café Felix, enjoy a late zMorgen and set off in the direction of the Öland Bridge. Because today we want to go further north, and when we look at the map we realise that this Sweden is huge!
If we continue at this pace, we will arrive at the Arctic Circle by Christmas 2022. So let's drive a little bit today.
