Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 21

How cute can a small town be? We got the tip from the Motorcycle Long Distance group on Facebook and are once again more than excited about the great suggestions.

Krumlov is located in the south of the Czech Republic on the Vltava River, which here, like the Aare in Bern, makes beautiful bends and frames the old town. Not far from the border triangle DE-AT-CZ and just behind the Šumava National Park, which we love so much.

And since all destinations in Slovakia are dead for us since last week (Slovakia has closed the borders for all Czech travellers), we just spend a few days here in this little town that we fell in love with from the first minute. Krumlov is car-free and looks as if not much has changed since the Middle Ages. And yet: there's an art, music, restaurant and café scene that's really got it going on. And Krumlov, which I always look forward to, has a lot of history to offer.
Yesterday was office day, today we went on foot through the town, up to the castle and into the baroque castle garden. Daniel from Freetours showed us everything, answered all our questions and told all kinds of fibs. Afterwards, however, he broke up his fibbing, as part of the entertainment, so to speak.
