It's really a bit of a mouse's knees.
On the one hand, I want to sit on the motorbike as often as possible, on the other hand, I want to stroll through the mountains on foot. And such a weekend is really much too short, even if it is quite long, like this one with the bridge.
So it's finally time for us to set off and travel, because 7 days a week of motorcycling, hiking and experiencing would suit us too.
Yesterday was hiking day. Picnic and hiking poles packed, camera around the neck and off we go to the Gadmer Dolomites. That's what they call the nice little mountain region between the Aare Gorge and the Susten Pass. Nothing to do with "really" Dolomites. But if you're not allowed to go to Italy, just take the light version. (For all of you in Germany, there are also 130 Swiss, Saxon Switzerland, Märkische Schweiz... You'll have to google Switzerland in Germany!) But Dolomites-Light is also mega beautiful. An absolute hiker's paradise. The fact that the gondolas aren't running yet doesn't bother us sporty types, of course. We just walk the 700 m up and the 1100 m down (because we wanted to make it easy again...). The overall "hiking day" package included 17 km of hiking trails, forests, flowery meadows, snowfields, impressive rock formations, a romantic mountain hut, a glacier view, shortcuts, slips and a post bus.
That's the way to hike.
