Gratitude. Lightness. Trust.
When you travel, it's always nice to live out your inner child within yourself. I usually succeed quite well. When the mind is free, it's easier to enjoy.
Oh dear, how do I get the transition right? Elegantly, certainly not. But I'll give it a try. When we travel, we always invite people to stay in our flat for the time being. Today they call it house-sitting. In the old days it was simply: can you take out the mail regularly and feed the hangover? Anyway, so far we've always been mega lucky. It's wonderful when you know that there's someone at home, that the cat can throw himself at you in his well-known elegant way. That the mail is being taken out. The flowers are being watered.
And by the way, they're on holiday here, which is quite an acceptable side effect.
And the best thing is: whenever we come home, there's always something new in the kitchen cupboard, something we would never have bought ourselves but can now try out. The fact that we come home to a spotless flat is never expected, but it's great.
