135 - From Istanbul to the Mediterranean Coast - Turkey - Grand Tour

Great Journey 🏍 Day 291
They are small, a bit dusty and directly on the road. Or sometimes a hidden oasis at a petrol station. The small mini-restaurants. In Southeast Asia we would call them cookshops. We don't yet know what they are called here.

But we love them. When our butts hurt after a while or the heat becomes unbearable (Malou was delivered without air conditioning!) we pull over, settle down and drink tea (me) or a Coke (I have my own Coke Man with me!).

And then we let ourselves be surprised. Most of these small restaurants are family-run businesses, where the food is still cooked or sizzled. Unfortunately, most of the food is meat. But they always find something for me. Most of the time I have to let myself be surprised.

And when such a break lasts an hour or two, we are refreshed, chat with the locals thanks to the "Google translator" and learn about the most beautiful corners and the best roads in the vicinity.
