We get to know Martin virtually. He is a Norway professional and navigates us through the area better than any Norway manual. Here a link, there an insider tip. Additional information such as: "Be sure to sit on the left side of the Nordlandbahn first, then on the right side after Saltfjellet" makes our hearts happy and allows us to travel in a relaxed manner.

We should definitely take Fv17, but not the "fast" E6. All right, we'll do it. We change our plan to drive home and treat ourselves to a few days on Fv17.

And what can we say? Mega beautiful. Behind every bend, "Stop, we have to take a picture of that! We are speechless over so much beauty. As we now know, we see petrified trolls everywhere instead of mountains. We are not quite familiar with the trolls yet, but we will get there.

The road winds from fjord to fjord, the sun is shining, the roads are dry by now and the snow in the area is getting much less. Every now and then the road simply stops, our sat nav informs us: "Please take the ferry!". We cut short, so to speak, and roll onto small and medium-sized ferries countless times. On one of these ferries we are told: "We are now crossing the Artic Circle. Nice, this will probably be the last time, at least on this part of the journey.

In the evening, it is already pitch dark, we roll off a ferry for the last time and look for a quiet spot with a view of some fjord. Under a starry sky, the Aurora app beeps wildly, we crawl out of our Felix once more and see by far the strongest northern lights of our trip dancing in the sky! Finally seeing northern lights at temperatures around zero degrees, finally not freezing any more. Only this moon shines a little too brightly for our liking, in competition with Lady Aurora.
