Italy - Once all in Rome please

25 October 2020

Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 53

"Rome was not built in a day either."
From the looks of it, they still need quite a while. Everywhere here are the ideas that have been started and not finished. Some only have a few columns (Forum Ramanum), others have a hole in the roof, it's raining in (Pantheon) and others have probably stopped halfway (Collosseum). The ideas are really nice, big compliments to the Romans!

But honestly? We have never travelled to a city about which we really knew so little, had not prepared ourselves and yet had already heard so much.

After diligently walking through Rome, our legs aching, our palates rejoicing and our eyes unable to pass anything on to our brains due to the abundance, a slight oversaturation sets in.

We retreat to our airbnb and rest. Sort out thoughts, pictures, travel plans. And yet we are always amazed at how so much exciting stuff can fit into a single city.
