Great Journey 🏍🏍 Day 23

Upper Austria, you are probably very pretty. We'll take your word for it, but we haven't seen much of it. We quickly throw on our rain gear under a bridge (and take care of all the keys! We're learning.) and off we go.

The raindrops roll off the visor, the clothing once again holds tight. To the right and left of the road, foggy, rainy Upper Austria. When we want to take a coffee break, we learn the hard way that the room hour here is between 2 and 5. Shortly before 2 we actually get a quick snack - but we have to sit outside. At least we have a roof.

So instead of celebrating Austria, we quickly drive to Salzburg, where a small, sugary hostel room awaits us - in the middle of Linzer Gasse. On the top floor. Within easy reach of the church tower and its "little bell". Which, we learn, is crystal-clear, very clear and loud, and synchronises itself with our clocks every quarter of an hour.

But now it's time to put on trainers and walk around the town. The city of Mozart is calling.
