Great Journey 🏍 Day 84

After we were asked from so many sides to finally stop with these enchanting pictures, because it's mean, we want to show another side today. (But only for one post, after that there will be more pretty things, we can't/won't do anything else).

A side that also exists here. Ruins stand between the romantic blue and white beauties. Not the ancient ones, no, ruins of buildings. Rubbish is littered along the main roads. Mattresses are simply thrown on the side of the road, set alight and that seems to solve the rubbish problem for that particular person.

We do not see any waste separation, heating is with electricity. There are very few organic products here in the village. And the trees and bushes, some of which we eat oranges, lemons, tomatoes and figs from, are almost always sprayed. Cars look exciting, they don't seem to need TÜV any more, the rust keeps them together.

It feels strange, this relaxedness in dealing with broken & old. We admire the serenity, are sometimes irritated (because we are once again using our own standards - stupid, but we are trying to get out of the habit) and very often we just try to do what helps us on our travels: "Oh look, that's interesting, that's how they do it here!" instead of evaluating, judging. Who are we to judge?

All in all, we see the majority of beautiful things, simply because we want to. Because we have become accustomed to it. And because it does us good.
