Big Trip - Little Break🇨🇭 Day 595-599
A journey like this changes you. The most important thing is to let yourself be surprised again and again. (I read the book "A Course in Miracles" years ago, and it helps me a lot now).
Before we leave for the mountains, Gerd looks at me, says he still has to go to a bookshop and needs books. He would read more now.
I look at him, wonder, wait to see if it's just a joke and unload him in front of the bookstore of his choice. I look for a parking space, go shopping to fill the fridge and wait.
He comes towards me, beaming, with three thick tomes under his arm. He is serious, I think. At this point I don't yet know that my husband will now read continuously for 4 days and, which seems to be getting a bit unpleasant, a) tells me about the books and b) asks me the next day what else I would know about them.
Is that karma? Immediately I regret that I kept telling people about my books. And secretly vow to do better.
Besides the books and the peace and quiet, there are also very nice mountains, cute mountain houses, great sunrises and sunsets and a beautiful Lake Thun. That's how to enjoy a few days' holiday from travelling.
