27 January 2020

Leben-pur started out as a gratitude diary. And it still is. We try to look at the world mindfully, to be grateful for every encounter with nature, with people and above all with ourselves. Sometimes it feels like a travel diary. And then again I remember what we actually wanted to achieve with Leben-pur: To show ourselves and the world and to remind ourselves that it is beautiful to live. That people are good. That it is worthwhile to look closely. That the little things are just as valuable as the big things.
And, what is especially nice, to reflect when something didn't go well and what finally came out of it. Because most of the time there is something wonderful in a hurdle.
For the last weekend I had booked a rest weekend at the (completely new) Upleven on the North Sea coast. I was looking forward to it sooo much. But on the Tuesday before, I got a call saying that I couldn't come because the floors had to be completely redone. Hm, too bad actually. Because this weekend of peace and quiet would have done me sooo much good.
But as life goes, a short phone call later, my lovely daughter and her dog invited themselves to stay with me. I was actually able to use my airbnb in Hanover (I currently work there and have wonderful accommodation during the week) for the weekend.
And so we spent some very wonderful, quiet, loving mummy-daughter time together. We slept in, exercised together, did yoga (that was the moment when we collapsed on the floor laughing tears - of course we were laughing at me!), walked along the Steinhuder Meer (which is not a sea at all!) and moved into the sofa in the corner at the only open café by the "sea".
Quality Time par excellence!
Yes, dear Upleven, I will come when your floors are ready. And thank you Upleven for the cancellation!
Once again: take the opportunities as they come.
