I'll make it short: here we go! The decision has been made.
Now we have a good 3 months left. We want to hand over the flat by the end of August and give away, sell or store all our stuff.
One of the most interesting detours this year was probably the special situation of closed borders. But now, on a hike to the world-famous Chutzeturm, we have looked at all possible variants, we have dreamed, we have exchanged ideas. And finally decided.
Whether we made the right decision? No idea. But it doesn't really matter. Because the goal is the journey, the path, being on the road.
Are the borders Right South open? If yes, great! If no, then north.
Going up north on a motorbike in winter? Well, nobody says we have to take our motorbikes everywhere all the time. A time in the Finnish winter without a motorbike would also have its charms. Or a mountain hut in Appenzell or Grisons in winter? We could do worse, couldn't we?
So, no matter how it comes: we are drawn away. And since the moment we made the decision, we have been tingling with travel fever. Anticipation. And: apartment-breaking-up-change-of-registration-reins-orga-to-dos. But we're totally happy to do those right now. Because if you know the "why", you won't be bothered by the "how". -----------------------------------
