Great Journey 🏍 Day 87

Today we are going on a big trip. Let's make a plan. Shortly before 3, we finally manage to leave our much-loved balcony.

We walk for about 7 minutes to the castle ruins. We want to take a close look at them today. We plan to spend about 20 minutes there.

I'm telling you: big trip.

What I had underestimated once again: the Brekkies bag in Gerd's jacket pocket.

Nevertheless, the castle is beautiful, old, quaint, almost nothing left except the remains of the walls. Nature is taking it all back, it looks beautifully overgrown.

On the headland in front of the castle, goats and a horse are grazing. The old farmer there didn't want us to walk on his (?) land at first, but then we gathered all our vocabulary and point to the horse and I say "Το μεγάλο άλογο!" And he nods! He understood me! Yes! (Yesterday in Greek class I was still wondering what the heck we wanted with the sentence fragment "The big horse". Now we know.)

The farmer, for his part, warns us about termite holes (we only knew hills so far) and we watch the chickens clucking. We learn the words κοτόπουλο (chicken) and αυγό (egg) from him, but forget them by the time we get home.

In the last sunshine, we catch a glimpse of Koroni's harbour from the castle and our excursion is already over. The way home also takes about 7 minutes plus Brekkies breaks.
